Old Friends Always Remain

Old Friends Always Remain

Unpublished

Time goes by so quickly.
I feel the pain of growing old.
I’m alone and afraid friends
to face another day.

I don’t live where I was raised.
My homes in another town.
Far from my childhood.
Far from my old friend’s home.

I don’t want to be alone anymore.
I don’t want to be alone.
I don’t want to be alone friends.
and face another day.

When I was feeling down.
An old friend came my way.
Many months since I’d seen him.
The love we shared still remained.

Then we traveled to the city.
The city lights brought me home.
Home to my childhood.
Home to my old friend’s home.

I’ll never be alone anymore.
I’ll never be alone.
I’ll never be alone friends.
Old friends always remain.
