Walking Like Rain

Walking Like Rain

From the Album Dove with Claws

Sometimes I like to go inside of some old rusty pipe
To find out what’s on the other end
Will it be the same blue sky
Will it be God’s only eye
Will it be love of some old friend

Sometimes I like to dream of new realities
That takes us far away from here
Into a place that has no time
Into a song that has no rhyme
Free from these walls filled with fear

Walking like rain

Sometimes I like to think about nothing at all
Except what comes drifting through my brain
Where judgment has no call
Where babies never fall
Where there’s no need to call out your name

Sometimes I do believe we’re nothing more than energy
Wrapped up inside of skin
That feels good next to yours
That keeps this body warm
That keeps me loving you again

Walking like rain

Extra Verses:
Sometimes when I’m with you I find I get confused
Not knowing what it is that brings us down
Other times like a Saint
Free from complaint
Your love lifts me high above the ground.

Sometimes I have to leave to find that place in me
Where no one can mess with my mind
To watch the Red-Tail Hawk
Glide while I walk
Above the mountainside
