Minneapolis Comes Together in Song

“When we moved into the Longfellow community of Minneapolis four decades back we were the young folks helping out the old folks. We’re now the old folks surrounded by young neighbors who are keeping an eye on us.

We’ve been put through more than any neighborhood should be put through these last few years. George Floyd was murdered only blocks from our home. Mother Renee Good killed by ICE two blocks from our faith community. VA Nurse Alex Pretti shot dead a block from where we recorded Water In The Rain (Honoring the 38) & White Sheets In The White House.

Today our neighbors are working around the clock protecting children and families in our community from being abducted, kidnapped, and separated by the hands of our own federal government.

Yet, through it all our neighborhood has grown even more resilient and strong in their love and compassion for each other. The same is so for the entire Minneapolis-St.Paul community.
