Factory Slave

Factory Slave

Unpublished

I work in the factory
I work all day long
When the day begins
I wish it were gone
I’m tired of dreaming
My life away
I’m tired of being
A factory slave

The whistle blows
Early at dawn
Out of my bed
Into my car
Every day I drive
That crowded freeway
Knowing that I’m
A factory slave

The foreman he’s friendly
The foreman he’s kind
As long as I don’t
Use my mind
Whatever you do
Never complain
To him about being
A factory slave

Some people drive
In company cars
Others they drive
Straight to the bar
Right after work
Their lives they hate
Too many years
A factory slave

I dream of the time
When we’re organized
When workers have more
Control of their lives
And feel good
At the end of each day
In world where there
Are no factory slaves
